Fresh oFf her tour with Drake Bell, Petra Jarrar is your new favorite artist on the rise

And her journey has only just begun.

Known for her "hook-drenched, danceable, optimistic pop songs" and electrifying persona, Petra's early beginnings were quite humble.

Growing up in Fairfield, CT, she began her journey as a classical pianist, learning the trick of the trade from her brother, an established concert pianist and composer, when she was just two years old. As she grew older, her mother took note of Petra's bubbly personality and knack for entertainment. She would often put on "shows" for guests that would come over for dinner in the family living room, When she was six, Petra told her mother that she wanted to be "different" than her brother, and not follow in his classical music steps. So, her mother bought her Fender Strat. From that day on, everything changed for Petra. Petra wrote her first song when she was twelve.

Soon after, she taught herself how to produce music on her laptop, and transformed her closet into a vocal booth, often using the clothes in her closet to soundproof the space. Petra spent years honing in on her craft, and performed acoustic shows locally to try out her new material. When Petra was 16 years old, she was accepted to The New School, and promptly moved to the West Village to fully live out her dream of being a performer.

Soon, Petra took the live music scene by storm. In New York alone, Petra headlined Webster Hall three times, as well as The Bowery Electric, The Bitter End, and Melrose Ballroom.

While an active performer in New York City, Petra has toured both nationally and internationally. Her first international tour took place in Fall 2016, where she performed at the Kansai Music Conference in Japan, making appearances in cities such as Tokyo (Mona Records), Kobe (Art House & IZNT) and Osaka (Hard Rock Cafe at the Universal City Walk). Her tour was supported by D'Addario Strings, Evans Drumheads, Promark and Roland. She also toured Los Angeles following her first appearance at the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards and performed an exclusive show on Valentine's Day at The Mint LA.

Summer 2017 provided Petra with her biggest musical breaks as of yet. In July, she collaborated with Guitar Center for a national advertising campaign showcasing her band's equipment. On top of that, Petra was invited to perform on the DW Stage on the High School Nation Fall 2017 Tour as an opening act for Drake Bell. She performed for two weeks, with shows in cities such as Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, Lexington, Louisville, Nashville, Franklin and Knoxville. During her social media takeover, she had nearly 17.6k people tune in to her behind the scenes video diary on Snapchat and Twitter!

On top of her crazy adventures on the road, Petra is slated to drop her first album in 2018, and will embark on a several month long tour across the country following the release. Although she has already achieved so much at 20, Petra is only getting started- so get ready.
